What my clients are saying.

  • Professor Margaret Baguley, author of A Possession Forever: A Guide to Using Commemorative Memorials and Monuments in the Classroom

‘We cannot speak more highly of the work undertaken by our editor Samara throughout this process. She expertly guided us through every step, which included many complex decisions including font style and size, positioning of text and images, copyright considerations for open textbook access, sectioning of the content and the cover design to name a few.
As there were four authors involved Samara’s formidable experience and expertise was invaluable in our discussion of various ideas and in guiding us towards the most effective, engaging and visually appealing decisions.
Samara is extremely through, has an innate design sensibility, and her work ethic is exemplary.
She was able to provide several choices to cater for personal design and preferences; yet could also succinctly explain why a particular choice would work better than another.
During the editorial process we could see how much our book was enhanced by Samara’s editing decisions, which can only occur with someone who has extensive experience and expertise in this field.
Samara also has a passion for editing. Her enthusiasm and excitement throughout this process was evident and ensured the team also responded in kind.
It has been an absolute pleasure and delight to work with Samara during the editing process for our book. She has a calm demeanour, excellent time management skills, an eye for detail and very high emotional intelligence. These were important attributes that ensured our team completed the book on time and to an exceptionally high standard.
We were all absolutely delighted with the outcome of our book. We are so appreciative to Samara for her excellent and expert guidance towards finding the best visual outcome which succinctly captures the complexity of the book’s content.
I cannot speak more highly of Samara’s expertise as an editor and recommend her in the highest possible terms for any workplace that was fortunate enough to secure her services.’

  • Dr Bronte van der Hoorn, author of Visuals for Influence: In Project Management and Beyond

The project had a very tight deadline and Samara went ‘above and beyond’ to ensure that we were ready for publication well within the required timeframes.
Samara also sourced and implemented the necessary tool, Hypothesis, to support the editing and revision process.
The editorial work was unique in that there was a large number of visuals that in addition to the text required proofreading. Samara was skilled in managing changes to these visuals which supported the overall efficiency of the process.
Samara’s editorial recommendations were always professional and educative. With this educative approach not only was the quality of writing in the book improved, but I also learnt new tips to incorporate into my future writing.
I also appreciated how when Samara identified areas for improvement, she also provided potential alternative text. In a few rare cases where the proposed alternatives were not quite right for my purposes, Samara was patient and collaborative as we discussed alternatives that met both my needs and were easy for the reader to understand.
Samara also implemented consistency in style and voice to my book.
In addition to Samara’s technical skills, systematic approach and attention to detail, she has a clear passion for writing and publishing. This was evident in her enthusiasm for her craft and her commitment to achieving my vision for the book.’
